Singer, songwriter, and guitarist extraordinaire Gary Clark Jr. has confirmed a handful of tour dates leading up to SXSW 2012 in Austin, Texas this March. He’ll also perform at Coachella and NOLA Jazz Fest in April.
Clark has enjoyed an incredibly successful year of touring the U.S, Europe and the U.K. performing everywhere from sold-out clubs to summer festivals and massive stadiums with Eric Clapton and back. Coupled with TV appearances on Letterman and Fallon, high-profile benefit shows with Alicia Keys and The Roots plus tremendous critical praise has set the tone for the year.
With an ever-widening fan base snapping up copies of his acclaimed The Bright Lights EP and radio play of the title track, fans the world over are awaiting the release of his WB debut album later this year.

Derek Vincent Smith (aka Pretty Lights) has just released a new classic sounding PL track titled “We Must Go On”, along with a self-made music video.
The track is a soulful hip-hop jam, laced with a vocal hook that is uplifting, reflective, optimistic, and hauntingly beautiful all at the same time.
The video expresses and channels emotions in a beautiful collage of shots that capture little moments in people’s lives, from the joyous, to the innocent, to the desperate. It does so with an editing style based on quickly cut shots, and extremely precise synchronicity with the music. Derek collaborated with Krystle Blackburn (PLM’s Creative Director) to create this new style of music video.

“THE YEAR OF THE DOORS” UNDERWAY WITH
40TH ANNIVERSARY REISSUE OF ICONIC L.A. WOMAN ALBUM
The Doors have officially debuted the first new, completely unreleased song in 40 years, “She Smells So Nice.” The bluesy track captures the band–organist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, drummer John Densmore and late singer Jim Morrison–joyfully barreling through the full-throttle original.
Bruce Botnick, the album’s co-producer with the band, recently made the discovery while reviewing the L.A. Woman session tapes for the 40th anniversary reissue of the L.A. Woman album out January 24.
The song premiered on the band’s Facebook page and is set to be serviced to radio the following day. Click here to listen to the new tune.
On Friday, January 20 at 7:30 PM there will be a one-time special screening of “Mr. Mojo Risin’: The Story of L.A. Woman” at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, CA with special surprise guests. Jac Holzman–who signed the group to Elektra Records–and Los Angeles rock radio veteran Jim Ladd will present the film and take questions about the groupBs final album and legacy afterwards at a public Q&A session.
