The Afghan Whigs

Beginning at Noon today, The Afghan Whigs will make the song “See And Don’t See” available as a free download at: www.theafghanwhigs.com. Originally recorded in 1970 by Marie “Queenie” Lyons, the band’s version of “See And Don’t See” is the first new recording in over five years from the recently reunited group.

The Afghan Whigs will perform “See And Don’t See” when they make their first television appearance in over a decade on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon next Tuesday May 22.

The Afghan Whigs will perform their first show in 13 years to a sold out crowd at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City next Wednesday May 23. The band have currently announced 28 worldwide shows to date for 2012 including performances at Lollapalooza, ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror (London & NJ), Primavera Sound (Barcelona & Portugal) among numerous others. AMERICANA OUT JUNE 5


Neil Young

Neil Young & Crazy Horse have released their third video from Americana, their first album in nine years out June 5. This time, “Clementine” gets the video treatment, as the clip (and all accompanying videos for the album” feature “found” archival American footage.

Americana is a collection of classic, American folk songs. In their day, some of these may have been referred to as “protest songs,” “murder ballads,” or campfire-type songs passed down with universal, relatable tales for Everyman.

Neil and Crazy Horse are scheduled to headline Outside Lands. They’ve also lined up a two-night run at Red Rocks with support from young upstarts Alabama Shakes.
