Dave Matthews Band have
announced a fall tour set to begin November 2 in Buffalo, NY, before hitting
Uniondale, Albany, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Atlanta, Charleston, and Charlottesville. Openers include Amos Lee, The Punch Brothers, John Butler Trio, and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.

The band have
previously announced an extended hiatus, taking a break from touring action for all of 2011. Check out the tour

Phish

On November 2, 1996, Phish
performed at Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL; the only outdoor shed show of the Fall Tour. On
October 19, JEMP Records will release Coral Sky, a brand new 2-DVD set capturing the complete
performance. They were joined by percussionist Karl Perazzo (Santana), whose contribution helped extend
and build upon the magic of Halloween, adding polyrhythms that explored new space within Phish’s music. The Allman Brothers Band drummer,
Butch Trucks, furthur upped the percussion coefficient by sitting in on drums for the Encore.

The 2-DVD set
features more than 2 1/2 hours of footage with 5.1 Dolby Surround or optional PCM Stereo sound audio, mixed from
multi-track masters.

Coral Sky is available for pre-order now at Phish Dry Goods, along with a soundtrack companion CD (which
will not
be in stores, but available exclusively at Dry Goods).

We have President Grover Cleveland for making today a national holiday in the United States. The catalyst, as with many positive changes in U.S. history, was prompted by bloodshed – the deaths of workers during the infamous Pullman Strike – but few things worth having happen without some loss. Now, Labor Day marks the beginning of football season and a long weekend for (some) laborers nationwide. Without getting all heavy on you, we thought we’d offer some tunes about work and a tiny encouragement to pause and reflect on those still struggling to get a day of rest and fair treatment in their labors. Workers around the world have been singing “The Internationale” since it was composed in the late 1800s. It is sung in many languages but means the same thing the world over – a cry for justice and equality and fairness. There are many, many variations on the basic tune & lyric, and here’s a couple takes on the classic.

A digital release date and a tracklisting has been unveiled for the soundtrack to the first season of
the NOLA-based HBO show Treme.
Treme: Music From The HBO Original Series, Season 1 will have a digital release on
September 28, with a physical
CD release is expected later in the fall. The soundtrack features
