“Guyute” www.phasinated.com Phish October 20, 1998 Sessions at West 54th, New York, NY Sleep#, Frankie Says, Ghost, Roggae, Guyute, Wading in the Velvet Sea, Driver#, Albuquerque*, Birds of a Feather, Piper, Taste** Played for “Sessions at West 54th,” a PBS series hosted by David Byrne (of Talking Heads). “Birds,” “Ghost,” and “Taste” were broadcast January 9, 1999 on the program, in addition to interviews with the band about fan taping and the Halloween musical costumes. #Acoustic. *Played (acoustic) while tapes were being changed; was not taped. **Quasi-encore Phish had finished their written setlist (though skipping “The Moma Dance,” which was on the list given to the cameramen) and had some time left (“Ghost” was only 10 minutes long). After a flood of audience requests (including many for Byrne to sit in), Trey said, “Okay, let’s just play Taste,” at Page’s suggestion.

THE GREAT GOOGAMOOGA ANNOUNCES MUSIC LINEUP

Superfly Presents is excited to announce the music line up for The Great GoogaMooga, the highly anticipated food, drink and music festival set to take place in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on May 19-20, 2012. Superfly has curated the music to complement the unprecedented food experience that is GoogaMooga.

Confirmed so far are: Philly soul legends Hall & Oates, the irrepressible Motown/Stax-influenced Fitz & The Tantrums, the electro dance magic of Holy Ghost! and more listed below.

Spanning across the park’s Nethermead area and making for the ultimate sensory experience, GoogaMooga will host approximately 75 restaurants & vendors, 35 brewers, and 100 wines. Helping to power the food experience, Googamooga is excited to announce a special partnership with Seamless, the nation’s leading mobile and online service for ordering delivery and takeout food. Through the partnership, Seamless will power the festival’s online restaurant pages, host culinary & technology panels onsite within Googamooga’s Restaurant 101 stage, and bring their Craved Awards to Googamooga, giving guests a chance to vote for their favorite festival dishes.

General Admission at GoogaMooga is free but attendees must register to obtain a ticket to the event; concessions in General Admission are priced individually. With Extra Mooga, GoogaMooga’s all-inclusive paid ticketed experience, guests have exclusive viewing of the Main Stage shows and access to 20 different events per day, ranging from music to comedy, culinary seminars, cocktail demos, wine and beer tastings and theme parties.

    The Independent Weekly proudly announces its third annual Hopscotch, North Carolina’s largest and most diverse music festival that has, once again, gotten just a touch grander. Scheduled for Sept. 68, 2012, in downtown Raleigh, with 175 bands in 15 venues, Hopscotch has grown to offer fans more local, national and international choices in just about every genre imaginablefrom classic indie rock and emerging hip-hop to experimental heavy metal and gospel-blues orchestras.

    This year, three new venuesthe majestic Memorial Auditorium, Raleigh’s beautiful Contemporary Art Museum and the historic Long View Centeradd another exciting dimension to the festival and its lineup.

    Hopscotch will be highlighted by two nights in Raleigh City Plaza, the city’s most captivating downtown space. On Friday, Sept. 7, two rock legends, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Built to Spill, will be joined by dynamic opener Zammuto. And on Saturday, Sept. 8, possibly the best live crew not only in hip-hop but all of music, The Roots, headline with New York disco force Escort and local soul project Shirlette and the Dynamite Brothers supporting.

    Roughly 165 other bands perform in 14 clubs during the festival’s three days. A sampling of these acts includes: Yo La Tengo, Liars, Sunn O))), Danny Brown, Thee Oh Sees, Baroness, Death Grips, Deerhoof, Damien Jurado, Flosstradamus, Zola Jesus, Laurel Halo, Pallbearer, Young Magic, Lambchop, Cities Aviv, Oneida, Wye Oak, Samantha Crain, Glenn Jones, The Spits and Colin Stetson.
