2012 NORTHSIDE FESTIVAL ADDS 100+ MORE BANDS TO LINEUP

Now in its fourth year, the Northside Festival (June 14-21) is Brooklyn’s preeminent music and emerging culture festival, showcasing the next generation of artists, innovators and problem-solvers, all within the walkable radius of Williamsburg and Greenpoint.

Northside Music, set for June 14-17, features more than 350 bandsincluding the ultimate summer evening for any self-proclaimed fan of indie rock with Jens Lekman, of Montreal, The Thermals and Beach Fossils performing an all-ages show at the new Williamsburg Park on Friday, June 15. Entry is free on a first-come, first-served basis for Northside badge-holders, though there is no guarantee of admission if badge capacity if filled. Individual tickets will be $33.50 (on sale Friday at noon here).

    As the Grammy-winning guitarist, songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Slash gears up for the May 22 release of his second solo studio album Apocalyptic Love, he’s announced a run of headlining shows in North America kicking off July 12 and wrapping August 4 with up-and-coming Canadian group Monster Truck supporting.

    An exclusive fan pre-sale begins this Wednesday, May 9 at 10:00 AM at http://www.slashonline.com and will feature packages including VIP meet and greets, and rare merch items such as signed guitars. Slash and his band Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators are currently touring the U.S., a mix of headlining dates and festivals (Carolina Rebellion, Rock On the Range, Rocklahoma).

    Starting today Monday, May 7, fans will be given the opportunity to unlock unreleased tracks from Apocalyptic Love by sharing the app located on Slash’s Facebook page with 10 of their friends. From Monday through Friday of next week, 5 new tracks will be previewed exclusively each day via Slash’s Facebook page.

    Legendary singer/songwriter/poet Leonard Cohen has announced a North American tour, beginning October 31 in Austin, TX. This leg of Cohen’s “Old Ideas World Tour 2012″ follows on the heels of his previously announced European concert dates. The tour celebrates Cohen’s highly acclaimed twelfth studio album, Old Ideas.
