NEW STUDIO ALBUM OUT MARCH 13, 2012

Legacy Recordings is proud to announce the March 13 stateside release of Hell in a Handbasket, the new full-length studio album from Meat Loaf, the iconic frontman whose 1977 breakout album, Bat Out Of Hell, defined the arena rock genre and remains as one of the world’s five top-selling albums of all-time, with more than 43 million copies sold to date.

Performing with Meat Loaf on Hell In A Handbasket is “The Neverland Express”, his long-time backing ensemble, featuring John Miceli (drums, percussion), Patti Russo (lead and backing vocals), Paul Crook (electric and acoustic guitars), Randy Flowers (electric and acoustic guitars, vocals), David Luther (saxophone, vocals), Justin Avery (piano, organ, keyboard, vocals) and Danny Miranda (electric and upright bass).

“Hell In A Handbasket is the most personal record I’ve ever made,” said Meat Loaf. “It’s really the first record I’ve ever put out about how I feel about life and how I feel about what’s going on at the moment.” The album, produced by Paul Crook, is an expression of lifes metaphors, driven by excellent musicianship, and of course, the passionate vocals of Meat Loaf. “Making this album was a great experience,” said Meat Loaf, “and I hope my fans enjoy hearing it as much as I did making it.”

THE MAN BEHIND HARDLY STRICTLY BLUEGRASS PASSES AWAY

    F. Warren Hellman (July 25, 1934-December 18, 2011) was a private equity investor who masterminded and funded the beloved Hardly Strictly Bluegrass free music festival held annually in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Hellman passed away on December 18, 2011 of complications from his treatment for leukemia. A unique man, Hellman was a Republican with many enthusiasms and causes who loved banjo with a rare passion. His gift to music, a festival attended by hundreds of thousands, will continue due to his generosity, extending the legacy of this fascinating man. The Bay Citizen has an excellent article about Hellman here.
