ESPERANZA SPALDING ROLLS OUT 2012 TOUR PLANS

Esperanza Spalding has announced world tour dates beginning April 18, 2012, as the bassist, vocalist and composer unveils her new release, Radio Music Society into a dynamic “big band” format.

Fans of Spalding who purchase tickets through Ticketmaster will receive a free song download of “City of Roses” from Radio Music Society, and in celebration of Black History Month, can purchase the e-single “Black Gold” (which includes a music video) on iTunes beginning February 7.

Spalding’s latest release, Radio Music Society, set for March 20, 2012, is her most diverse, ambitious and masterful recital yet. Each of the 12 songs are accompanied by conceptual music videos, which further express her inspiration and story behind each track. Shot in various locations including New York City, Barcelona and Portland, all videos will be available to purchasers of Radio Music Society as a digital download or a DVD on the deluxe version.

    OUT ON DVD AND BLU-RAY JANUARY 31

    Eagle Rock Entertainment is proud to issue The Richard Thompson Band Live At Celtic Connections on DVD and Blu-ray on January 31, 2012. His first live concert DVD in over five years, as well as his very first Blu-ray release in his 40-year career, is certainly worth the wait.

    Recorded in DTS Surround Sound, Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Stereo, and filmed in high-definition, Live At Celtic Connections took place in January of 2011 at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow. Performing at the annual Celtic Connections festival, Thompson was touring in support of his Dream Attic album. He focuses the first half of his set on Dream Attic, while using the second half to dig deep into his almost bottomless well of creativity, dating back to his very first solo album in 1972, Henry The Human Fly.

    Bonus features include two extra songs filmed at the 2011 Cambridge Folk Festival: “Uninhabited Man” and “Johnny’s Far Away.”

    SOME GIRLS REISSUES AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE NOW

    The Rolling Stones recently revealed a clip of “Beast of Burden” from their Some Girls Super Deluxe Box Set. The classic performance of “Beast of Burden” can be seen below.

    Universal Music Group released the deluxe and super deluxe reissue of the Rolling Stones’ 1978 album, Some Girls, on November 21. Widely regarded as one of the band’s greatest albums, the super deluxe version features 2 CD’s, 1 DVD, a hardback book, Helmut Newton print, 5 postcard set, a “Beast of Burden/”When The Whip Comes Down” 7″ vinyl, and a poster. Fans can check out a video “unveiling” of the super deluxe contents here.

    Also available for the first time ever is the Some Girls Live in Texas 1978 featuring Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman live in concert during the 1978 US tour which followed the release of their groundbreaking album Some Girls.
