Tortoise, one of Thrill Jockey’s oldest and most well-known bands, is hitting the road this spring. See below for current tour dates. The band is also reissuing several releases on vinyl throughout the year as part of Thrill Jockey’s 20th Anniversary.

THE FUNK STARTS STARTS APRIL 12 IN LAWRENCE, KS
Kinetix hits the road this week for a month of touring, with new music and fresh, funky takes on old classics. Throw in a bit of Sly and The Family Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Parliament Funkadelic, and the 1970s in general, and you’ve got Kinetix Spring Tour 2012. Oh, and if that’s not enough, the Chicago, Minneapolis, and Denver shows will feature some of the funkiest horn ensembles around.
After the band’s Cinco De Mayo Denver homecoming, Kinetix pushes through May towards the midwest festival scene, with appearances at the renowned Summer Camp Music Festival and Minnesota’s Bella Fiore Festival.

MONTH-LONG TOUR STARTS APRIL 6 IN DALLAS

Japanese psychedelic rockers Acid Mothers Temple will embark on a month-long spring tour, which is being dubbed as “Last Tour in US & Canada 2012″. The trek kicks off on April 6 in Dallas, Texas and will see the band hit Denver, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn, NYC, Philadelphia and more before winding down on May 12 at The Mohawk in Austin, Texas. The band’s most recent album, The Ripper at the Heaven’s Gates of Dark, was released in October of last year.
